Heard High School

Serving 672 students in grades 9-12, Heard County High School ranks in the top 30% of all schools in Georgia for overall test scores. The percentage of students achieving proficiency in math and reading is consistently above the Georgia state average, supported by a 16:1 student-teacher ratio.

Heard Middle School

Heard County Middle School serves grades 6-8 in a supportive rural setting. With 55% of students proficient in math and 42% in reading, the school is ranked #137 out of 564 Georgia Middle Schools, maintaining a healthy student-teacher ratio of 15:1.

Ephesus Elementary School

Serving 176 students across grades PK-5, Ephesus Elementary provides a personalized rural educational experience. With a 12:1 student-teacher ratio, the school achieves balanced proficiency in math and reading, outperforming many state counterparts.

Heard County School System

Heard County School System has been ranked among Georgia's stronger-performing districts, with graduation rates exceeding 90% and reaching as high as 96.2% in recent years - well above the state average.  Independent school-ranking organizations also place the district among the better performing systems in Georgia, reflecting strong academics, committed educators, and a supportive learning environment.  

Small class sizes, dedicated teachers, and a strong sense of community involvement allows students to receive individualized attention and support throughout their academic journey.   Students benefit from a well-rounded educational experience that includes college preparatory coursework, career and technical education opportunitties, athletics, fine arts, culinary arts, and extracurricular activities.

Centralhatchee Elementary

Ranked #162 out of 1,244 elementary schools in Georgia, Centralhatchee serves grades PK- PK-5 with distinction. 67% of students exhibit math proficiency and 57% in reading, all within a close-knit learning environment with a 12:1 student-teacher ratio.

Heard Elementary School

The largest elementary school in the system, Heard Elementary serves over 733 students. Ranking 447 out of 1,244 elementary schools in Georgia, the school prides itself on consistent reading proficiency and a community-centered learning model.
